Through The Long Desert: Georgia O'Keeffe & Frank Lloyd Wright
Georgia O'Keeffe and Frank Lloyd Wright never collaborated, but they shared something essential: a deep, abiding love for the American desert and the landscapes that shaped their work. Through The Long Desert, by Sarah Rovang, brings their stories together for the first time, tracing newly discovered connections through roughly two dozen letters they exchanged beginning in 1933.
Author Sarah Rovang places the artist and architect side by side, exploring their shared roots in rural Wisconsin, their careers in Chicago and New York, and the desert Southwest that called to them both. Richly illustrated and thoughtfully researched, this book explores artistic friendship, the idea of home, and the romance of place.
