About Anna Atkins
In a time when most women weren't encouraged to be scientists, Anna used her curiosity to document the natural world in a brand-new way. Instead of drawing plants, she captured their true shapes using sunlight and chemistry. Her work, originally intended as a scientific record, is now celebrated in museums around the world for its haunting beauty and minimalist design.
