About Botanica Paper Co.
Botanica Paper Co. is an independent, family-run studio led by founder and illustrator Oana Befort. The brand name is a nod to the Romanian term for botanical garden—Grădina Botanică—reflecting Oana’s lifelong fascination with these spaces of quiet wonder and observed beauty.
Growing up in Romania, Oana was inspired by folk motifs and the tradition of hand-painted correspondence. Today, she blends those nostalgic influences with a modern, process-driven approach, creating stationery that balances timeless craft with thoughtful design. Every piece begins with an original illustration and is produced using carefully selected materials, with the hope that each object will be enjoyed slowly and treasured over time.
